Boo is an angora rabbit, the breed which is reared for their ‘wool’. Her coat is incredibly high maintenance, needing constant clipping otherwise it form painful matts at the roots, constricting her movement like a strait-jacket. Angoras are subject to awful cruelty in countries like China where they are kept in appalling conditions and their fur is inhumanely pulled from their skin. This is why many animal lovers boycott products containing angora wool. Boo has had several homes, but the constant worry about her fur and the cost of regular professional clipping, has seen her come back into rescue. She now lives in the lap of luxury in a large Swiss chalet style shed and gets daily maintenance to keep her coat under control.
