Ghost and Storm came in together, both with scent gland tumours. After a course of antibiotics, it was decided by the specialist vet that it would be in their best interest to perform surgery to remove the tumours. While they have both recovered amazingly from the surgery, unfortunately the biopsy revealed that they were aggressive cancerous tumours, of which clear margins were not possible. It’s therefore likely that the tumours will grow back quickly, so the boys are remaining in our care and on steroids to slow the regrowth.

For now the boys remain happy, active little gerbils. They have a great bond with each other, and have both become very confident, and even know their medication routine now. Ghost is the calmer of the two, and loves spending his time digging their burrows, while Storm can usually be found running in their wheel.
