Hugo is another stray that came into our care with serious health issues. He was fortunately found by a kind family who took him to the vet to be checked for a microchip after he turned up in their garden and refused to leave. Sadly, Hugo was not chipped so his rescuers arranged for him to come into ARC’s care. When we took Hugo for his vet check it was found that he had jaundice and was severely anaemic, possibly caused by a high parasite burden. He is being treated for these conditions with steroids and antibiotics. We have had him neutered and microchipped but he will not be vaccinated until he is back to full health.
