Adopting a Guinea Pig – The Process

Guinea pigs are social little animals, and so need to be homed in pairs or groups. We therefore don’t allow adoption of a single guinea pig unless you have another one at home to bond it with.
We have pairs of guinea pigs that are already bonded and ready for homing.

Step 1

Once you make contact with us, we’ll give you the details of the foster home so you can arrange to meet the guinea pig(s) and make any bonding arrangements if necessary.

    Step 2

We’ll then complete a home visit and help you in making sure you have everything you need for your new family members.

    Step 3

To go ahead with the adoption, you will need to complete and sign our adoption form and leave the minimum donation for your new companion(s) with the fosterer. Please see minimum donations.

Finally please don’t forget to come back and leave us a message on our Testimonials page once your new pet has settled in!

    Adoption Donation

While it would be great to rehome animals for free, like all animal charities we need to cover the costs of our vet fees, pet food, litter, beds and housing, toys and all the other associated costs of running A.R.C. Our vet fees alone are in excess of £3,000 a month. Instead of charging a set fee, we ask for a minimum donation as you take your new companion home.

    Minimum Donation for Guinea Pigs

    • £20 (males will be castrated where appropriate)
    • £35 for a bonded pair

You can pay your adoption fees directly via PayPal. Please make sure to say which animal type and name(s) as well as the adoption date to help us with tracking these, as well as taking some proof so your fosterer can see that this has been done.

    • Use the space on the Paypal page where it says “Add a note” or
    • Use this form – thank you!
