I just thought that I would drop you a line as today marks the 15 year anniversary of my adoption of my cat Daisy from ARC. Daisy was about 11 months old when I adopted her. She had been fostered by ARC from around 9 months old after her previous owners no longer wanted her. While she was being fostered, it was discovered that she was partialy sighted (from having detached retinas) and also heavily pregnant. Daisy gave birth to 5 kittens and, when they were weaned, I adopted her and her kittens were also rehomed.
When I first had Daisy, she was quite distant and it took some months before she started sitting on my lap. After settling in, she quickly grew to love lots of cuddles and attention! We moved from north London to Brighton a couple of years ago and she adjusted to the move really well. She is now approaching 16 years old and is in reasonably good health for her age. I’ve attached a recent photo of her sunbathing in the garden. She is a very sweet cat and it has been such a joy to have her in my life over the past 15 years.
I have continued to support ARC since adopting Daisy after setting up a monthly donation by direct debit. I am very glad that you were able to rescue Daisy and enable her to find a happy home. I wish you all the best with your ongoing work and just wanted to share this update with you to let you know the difference it makes to the animals and their owners-to-be.
