There are many ways you can help animals in our care

ARC is entirely dependent on donations and all the money we raise goes directly to rescuing and caring for animals.

Healthcare: the most expensive part of our work for animals

Did you know it can cost over £200 to vaccinate and neuter an animal ready for rehoming? And that doesn’t include food costs!

Our monthly bills to run the charity are typically £6,000 to £8,000 per month. Our vet bills include veterinary care, neutering, medication, health checks worming and flea treatment.

Other animal care costs

  • Food, which sometimes has to include a special diet
  • Litter, bedding and hay
  • Carriers and pens
  • Beds and housing such as hutches, cages, tanks and heaters
  • Litter trays and feeding bowls
  • Recreational elements like scratching posts, runs and toys

Our volunteers

Our charity is run by volunteers and we foster animals in our own homes so we have minimal overheads. Some of our volunteers like to cover some small costs themselves, such as petrol when driving an animal(s) to the vets. However, a small part of your donations will go to operational costs such as phone bills, printing, fundraising and transport.
