Babs has come into our care with her adult offspring so she is used to living in a multi cat household. Her owner has sadly had to give up 7 out of his 8 cats as he has health issues which were making it hard for him to cope with so many cats. The owner loved and looked after his cats very well, but Babs and her offspring are all quite overweight and need to deit to lose a kilo or two! Babs is a friendly, confident and gentle girl who would suit any type of home. Babs has been given a clean bill of health by the vet, and has been wormed, fleaed, microchipped and is now fully vaccinated.
FOSTER HOME UPDATE: Babs struggled to settle into her foster home and did not want to be touched or stroked. We gave her as much space as we could and so she could explore the house to find her own spot where she felt safe. After a week, she started eating more and allowed me to stroke her head, started purring and lying on the floor with her tummy turned up. She always comes when called and responds with a quiet meowing. I let her in the garden after a week and when called, she always came back home. At the moment she allows us to stroke her head and gently brush her coat, but she doesnt like being held, picked up and even stroked on the back; she will bite when she doesn’t like the way she is being handled. Babs is quite playful and her favourite activity is chasing string. She loves the children’s room (she loves to sleep on their beds). Most of the time (when not patrolling the garden) she spends her time on the window sill, watching the outdoors or lying in the sun in the conservatory. Overall she is a very sweet cat, not timid but her trust must be earned. Due to her temperament, I would not recommend to families with small children. Finally, Babs doesn’t like to drink water from the bowl, she likes it running from the tap. 😀
